11th Gen Honda Civic Launched in Malaysia

After Thailand and Indonesia, the 11th generation Honda Civic sedan has been formally launched in Malaysia. The new Civic is available in three variants, and is is priced at RM125,635 (PKR 52.75 lac) for the base E version, RM138,043 (PKR 57.96 lac) for the V variant while the flagship RS model at RM144,350 (PKR 60.61 lac).

All variants are powered by 1.5L VTEC four-cylinder turbo engine that comes paired to CVT gearbox as standard. Fuel consumption is rated at 6.0 liters per 100 km for the E and V and 6.3 liters per 100 km for the RS.

According to Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Madoka Chujo:

“The new Civic is a modern interpretation of the classic and timeless human-centred Honda values, with a new design concept that exudes a New Age Identity sedan. Packed to the brim with advanced features while keeping true to the Civic DNA styling, handling and powerful performance, the 11th generation Civic is truly built and powered by Passion, inspired by a strong Legacy and built for the Future.”

In terms of exterior and interior, the new Civic remains consistent with the ones offered in other parts of the world including the regional Thai and Indonesian markets. Standard features include key-less entry (with walkaway auto-lock and remote engine start), push-button start, a 7-inch digital instrument display, single-zone automatic climate control with rear vents and a reverse camera and windshield washers integrated into the wipers. The V variant gets Honda Connect suite of telematic services, auto-dimming rear-view mirror and illuminated vanity mirrors, while the RS adds automatic wipers.

In terms of safety, all variants now come as standard with the Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance systems, including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane centering assist, lane keeping assist and automatic high beam.
