The 2017 Suzuki Swift has been officially unveiled in its first market, Japan, where its sales will commence on 4 January, 2017. The first walk around video of the 2017 Suzuki Swift has surfaced, giving a closer look at the car in the metal.
The Swift will launch with six grades: XL, XG and Hybrid ML, RS, RSt, and Hybrid RS. There are three powertrain options available, such as a 1.2-liter four-cylinder K12C DOHC naturally aspirated engine producing 91 PS and 118 Nm of torque (XL, XG, RS), the same 1.2 petrol engine paired with an ISG electric unit (Hybrid and Hybrid RS) and a new 1.0L Boosterjet three-cylinder DOHC engine with 102 PS and 150 Nm.

The fourth gen Swift measures 3,840 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width and 1,500 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. Compared to the outgoing model, the new Swift is 10 mm shorter in overall length, 10 mm shorter in height and has a 20 mm longer wheelbase, but identical width. It can be had with the K12C 1.2-litre DUALJET VVT four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 67 kW (91 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 118 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm, with or without the WA05A electric motor that generates 2.3 kW (3.1 PS) at 1,000 rpm and 50 Nm of torque at 100 rpm, as well as the K10C 1.0-litre BOOSTERJET VVT three-cylinder petrol engine that develops 75 kW (102 PS) at 5,500 rpm and 150 Nm of torque at 1,700-4,500 rpm.
The 1.2-litre petrol model will be available with a 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission, in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive drive-train layouts. It promises a fuel economy as high as 27.4 km/l (in JC08 test cycle). The 1.2-litre petrol-electric (mild-hybrid) model gets a continuously variable transmission as standard, and will be available in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive drive-train layouts. Varying as per the configuration, the fuel economy can be as high as 24 km/l (in JC08 test cycle). The 1.0-litre petrol model gets a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard, which sends power to the front wheels. This model has a fuel economy rating of 20 km/l (in JC08 test cycle).

LED headlamps, 16-inch wheels, C-pillar integrated door handles, flat-bottomed steering wheel, touch-screen infotainment system with navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Smartphone integration compatibility, collision-mitigating system, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, six airbags, ABS and ESP are key features of the all-new Suzuki Swift.
