FAW Jumpal CX65 Wagon Launched in China

FAW has launched the Jumpal CX65 Wagon in China with prices starting from 68,900 yuan (PKR 12.78 lac) for the base version, to up to 76,900 yuan (PKR 14.27 lac) for the fully loaded variant.

Think Toyota Corolla Fielder, which is the station wagon version of the Corolla sedan, the Jumpal CX65 is the wagon version of the FAW A50 sedan, penned by none other than former Lamborghini designer Filippo Perini.

Both A50 sedan and CX65 wagon are designed at IDG-Italdesign while the suspension has been developed by Horiba-MIRA of UK, which ensures unmatched handling performance despite exceptionally enhanced ground clearance of both the vehicles.

FAW CX65 wagon measures 4596/1785/1525mm, with a wheelbase of 2610mm and offers an impressive ground clearance of 172mm. Although the front-end and the interior remains largely similar to its sedan sibling A50.

The CX60 wagon differs in terms of side profile and restyled rear-end. The side profile adopts a circular arc design, with three-section waistline that enhances the appearance of the vehicle making it less monotonous.

In addition, the roof is equipped with an aluminum luggage rack that can withstand 30kg of luggage. At the rear, the CX65 is equipped with rear spoiler, windshield wiper, rear parking sensors and chromic rear bumper that conceals the tail pipe.

The interior is very much similar to the A50 sedan but CX65 is enhanced by subtle use of brown & chrome as opposed to the all-grey scheming of the A50. The rear seats can be folder in a 60:40 split. The conventional cargo volume is 610 liters but when seas are folded down, it is enhanced to 1503 liters.

It is equipped with an 8-inch touch screen display and a 3.5-inch LCD computer, as well as a one-button activation and keyless entry system. Bosch’s ESP is able to bring the ultimate driving experience to the owners, integrating voice assistance, entertainment, The π-link intelligent network-connected system with the functions of smart navigation and car tracking, 6 Airbags, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), rearview camera with reversing sensors, one-touch power tailgate and ISOFIX child seat anchors are among major features of the CX65.

CX65 is powered by a 1.5 liter 122hp naturally aspirated engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The rated fuel economy is 17.24 km per liter. Reportedly a 1.0 liter 119hp turbocharged unit with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) will also be made available in future.
