All New Hyundai Avante (Elantra) Debuts in South Korea

After making a sensational impact with its debut in North American markets, the all new Hyundai Elantra has been launched in its home market in South Korea, where the car is called as Avante. The base variant is priced from KRW 15,310,000 (equivalent PKR 20.9 lac).

According to Hyundai, it received 16,849 pre-bookings for the 7th gen Elantra in its home market between 25th March and 6th April, among which 10,058 pre-bookings were received on the first day itself. The all-new Avante sedan comes in 4 trims– Style, Smart, Modern & Inspiration and with 2 engines– one petrol and one LPG. The Smart Stream Gasoline 1.6 MPI petrol engine churns out 123hp & 154Nm and has a rated fuel consumption of 15.4 km/l. The 1.6 LPi engine produces 120hp & 152Nm and delivers up to 10.6km/l.

On the outside, the all-new Hyundai Avante (Elantra) features parametric-jewel pattern grille having turn indicators placed within, LED headlamps with DRLs, polyhedral shapes carved on its body especially the sides, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The rear gets angular taillights that are linked by a full-width light bar running in between the Hyundai emblem.

The interior design features a driver-centric structure with low and wide lines that wrap from the door to the crash pad and console, just like an airplane cockpit. The 10.25 inch cluster and 10.25 inch navigation integrated type ‘Panorama Display’ completes the luxury beyond the car class, and the navigation screen is tilted 10 degrees toward the driver for ease of operation and provides a high degree of immersion. Other highlights includes 10-way electric drive seat (including lumbar support), front-seat ventilation, rear seat heating, ambient lighting with 64 colors to choose from, 8-speaker Bose premium sound system and self changing dash colors according to the driving mode– which are Normal, Eco, Sports & Smart.

In addition, Hyundai has improved the safety, driving performance and ride comfort with a variety of state-of-the-art infotainment specifications, advanced driver assistance systems, and convenience features with the new Avante. These include Front Collision Avoidance (FCA) assistance (vehicle / pedestrian / bicycle occupant / intersection vehicle), Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Prevention Assist, Driver’s Caution Warning, High Beam Assist (HBA) are included with all trims as standard to enhance safety.

Hyundai-Nishat in Pakistan showcased the Elantra earlier this year at the 2020 Pakistan Auto Show in Lahore, however it was the now out-gone 6th generation model. As per reports the company is in process of introducing the 6th gen Elantra sedan in Pakistan later this year. Meanwhile the all new 7th gen Elantra will begin reaching other markets towards the second half of this year & will be marketed as a 2021 car.
