Sales of local assembled vehicles continue to observe an upward trajectory with 29% increase on year-on-year basis in October 2020 according to the data released by PAMA (Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association). An encouraging 14,054 units were sold in October 2020 compared to 10,853 units sold in the same month a year earlier.

Among the 3 major automakers, Indus Motor Company (IMC) witnessed the highest increase in sales with 5,481 cars leaving the showroom floors in October compared to 2,496 cars sold in same month last year registering a 120% surge.
Sales of Honda Atlas increase by 60% to 2,230 units against just 1,384 units in October 2019. However Pak Suzuki reported a 13% decline in sales during the month with 6,054 vehicles sold in October 2020 compared to 6,973 sold in the corresponding month of previous year.

On month-on-month basis the overall car sales increased by mere 1% mainly due to the negative graph of Honda Atlas which saw an 18% reduction in sales whereas Pak Suzuki suffered from a 7% decline on M-o-M basis. However that 1% increase was driven by IMC as sales of Yaris got increased by 26% whereas the rest of their lineup which includes Corolla, Fortuner and Hilux saw 8%, 94% and 45% increase on month-on-month basis respectively.
