Toyota Land Cruiser is trusted as the world’s most capable SUV since decades, and it just never stops surprising us with its off-roading potential. A recent video of the Indonesian president, Joko Widodo wading through the floods in a Toyota Land Cruiser on his way to visit flood victims has gone viral.
Indonesia has been experiencing floods due to the heavy downpour, especially in South Kalimantan and the president decided to pay a visit to the affected areas in a Toyota Land Cruiser J200. And although the LC now enjoys a premium vehicle status, there is no denying the fact that it still is a very capable off-roader.
The Indonesian media has made a huge deal about president’s Land Cruiser citing that the SUV was chosen due to its diesel engine which is more resilient to water damage as diesels don’t use spark plugs. So it’s another feather in the cap for Toyota Land Cruiser and the love for this vehicle in the region doesn’t seem to be coming to an end anytime soon.
The current Land Cruiser J200 made its debut back in 2007 and has been in production for over 13 years. Although it was reported that the LC will get a new generation model in late 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has hit the plans hard causing a delay to the reveal of next gen Land Cruiser.
