First export, then 10,000 Alsvin, and now 25,000 production celebration – it’s a hat-trick for Changan Pakistan. The 25,000th Changan vehicle produced in Pakistan was lined off from the company’s plant in Karachi, which has been upgraded to a capacity of 50,000 units per annum from original 30,000 units per annum.
Despite the acute supply chain challenges faced by the industry, this is a testament to Changan’s commitment to deliver locally assembled units to its customers in response to the overwhelming demand its products have received. Changan is winning the hearts of Pakistani’s and now overseas users as well.
Karvaan & Sherpa
Changan Karvaan & M9 Sherpa
In May 2019, the first locally assembled Changan vehicle– the Karvaan MPV rolled off the assembly line. It soon became an instant hit, disrupting the Eco–van / MPV segment in Pakistan and securing more than 50% segment share this year. The vehicle, together with its sibling M9 Sherpa Pickup has been enabling businesses do more and delighting families across the country.
Alsvin
In December 2020, the company unveiled the Changan Alsvin, B-segment sedan. The deliveries started from March 2021 and within a span of one year, more than 10,000 Alsvin were delivered to customers who have not been able to stop talking about the vehicle’s design and features. Today, close to 25% share is commanded by Alsvin in the B-segment which has been dominated by brands that have been established for a longer period of time.
Oshan X7
The latest addition to Changan’s disruptive portfolio is the Oshan X7 SUV. Launched in March 2022, Oshan X7 has the shortest launch to delivery period by any automaker in Pakistan. The deliveries of Oshan X7 started in April and the automaker has resolved to manage vehicle deliveries with minimal delays despite widespread lockdown in China due to latest wave of COVID.
Export
The Oshan X7 has also become the first vehicle to be exported by any OEM in the country under the new Auto Industry Development and Export Policy (AIDEP 2021–26). The global premier of Oshan X7 was done in Pakistan and viewed across all RHD markets digitally, resulting in the start of global exports of the futuristic vehicle.
Changan 25,000 units production milestone in Pakistan
During his remarks on the occasion, Danial Malik – the CEO of Master Changan Motors Limited appreciated the efforts of the production, engineering and commercial teams to achieve a common goal. He said:

At the event, while talking about the business strategy, the Director Marketing & Sales – Syed Shabbir Uddin said:
“Changan brand is all about democratizing the technology and bringing it within the reach of larger customer base. All our cars have modern automotive design, latest technology and advanced features”.
Changan is the only OEM in Pakistan to have tested autonomous self–driving technology and used the learnings to introduce “FutureSenseTM” suite in the Oshan X7. The current version of FutureSenseTM offers adaptive cruise control, automatic braking and collision warning among other smart features. Oshan X7 offers the only Euro–6 engine in Pakistan churning out massive 300 Nm of torque and 185 hp of power from a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine.
