The City has been the best-selling model for Honda in the Philippines for a while now. Every year since its introduction, the Japanese automaker’s mainstay has been the subcompact sedan. However, things are changing now.
After its November 2022 launch in the Philippines, the 7-seat MPV managed to surpass the City sedan as the bestselling Honda model in the country within just seven months of presence. More than 7,800 units of new Honda BR-V have been sold in the Philippines.
According to Honda Philippines, The reason behind the success of the new BR-V is its exceptional qualities that have resonated with customers. These include the new & improved distinct SUV-inspired design, comfortable and versatile interior, powerful and fuel-efficient engine, advanced features, and safety equipment.
In addition, all BR-V models have an ample 207mm of ground clearance and come equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, which gives consumers peace of mind when navigating rough terrain or moderate floods. There is also a decent passenger space inside and generous cargo volume which is better than the preceding model.
Under the hood, the all-new Honda BR-V has a 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder engine. It generates 121 hp with 145 Nm of torque and is paired with either a CVT or a 6-speed manual gearbox. Not only is the BR-V’s engine one of the most powerful in its class, but it’s also one of the most fuel-efficient. - 22.62 km/L – 1.5 S CVT
- 24.71 km/L – 1.5 V CVT

Standard safety equipment consists of 6 airbags, 3-point ELR seatbelts for all three rows, seatbelt reminders for front & middle row seats, ABS with EBD and BA, VSA, HSA, ESS, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, security alarm, reversing camera, speed-sending door locks, engine immobilizer, walk-away door locks and Honda Sensing (in top trim) with Lane Watch function.
The new BR-V also boasts a 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating and is available with Honda Sensing for extra peace of mind while on the road. As for price, the base S variant is available for PHP 1,150,000 (PKR 58.38 lac), the V variant is priced at PHP 1,295,000 (PKR 65.74 lac), while the top-spec VX with Honda Sensing is available for PHP 1,390,000 (PKR 70.57 lac).
