Geely Holding Group Co. Ltd., the Chinese multinational automotive manufacturing company, & owners of the Swedish car company, Volvo is now set to launch an all-new car brand – Lynk & Co on October 20, 2016, in Berlin.

The new brand is dubbed as ‘affordable premium’. It will be a global brand and will make use of Complex Modular Architecture platform (CMA) which was jointly developed by Geely and Volvo. According to reports, the new car brand will compete in the middle market segment. The brand will start selling the cars in China initially but eventually make its way to Europe and the United States. The first car from this brand is likely to roll out in 2017.

The Lynk & Co. brand is intended to take on the vehicles manufactured by foreign manufacturers working in conjunction with Chinese partners, General Motors and SAIC for example. Lynk & Co. will be initially launching a sedan and an SUV, both of which will use the newly developed CMA platform. Not much details about the vehicles or the nature of the venture are available at the moment. However the website is up & running- lynkco.com and as mentioned there, more news will be available by ‘October Twentieth’.
