Price wars in China continue to drive even better-specified, more affordable cars to the general public. The latest to benefit is the Geely Panda Mini small electric hatchback.

Not only has the price dropped, but Geely has also improved its driving range. The 2024 Geely Panda Mini EV is priced at 39,900 yuan ($5,500/ PKR 15.30 lac) and offers a range of 200 kilometers under the CLTC standards while supporting fast charging. This is the first time a 200-kilometer range electric car has been introduced in the sub-40,000-yuan price range.
The Geely Panda Mini is a 2-door mini that measures 3,065/1,522/1,600 mm, with a 2,015 mm wheelbase. Inside, there is a slender 9.2-inch digital instrument panel and an 8-inch floating central touch screen that supports functions including reversing imagery, air conditioners, Bluetooth, etc. The rotary gear selector is located at the center console. Safety features include airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-start assist, a child safety seat, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

Under the hood, the Geely Panda Mini is powered by a 30 kW electric motor driving the rear axles with a 17 kWh LFP battery boasting a 200 km CLTC driving range. It also supports 22 kW fast charging which requires half an hour to charge from 30% to 80%, while a full charge can be achieved in just 68 minutes. The car also supports regular home charging, providing convenient charging options for users.
