The all-new Honda Elevate has been formally launched in the Indian market with a starting price of INR 11.0 lac. Honda’s latest SUV made its world debut in India in June and went into mass production in the subsequent month. It is available in 4 variants— SV, V, VX, and ZX with the flagship version costing as high as INR 16.24 lac.
Due to the lack of an SUV in its lineup, Honda was forced to the periphery and ended 2022–2023 with a market share of 2.3%. It has spent years developing the mid-size premium SUV, and now it is depending on it to deliver the vital sales figures to restore its former glory in India, where it once held a commanding market share.
A 1.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine producing 119 hp and 145 Nm powers the new Honda Elevate. The DOHC engine, which is also present in the new City, is paired with either a CVT or 6-speed manual gearbox, sending power to the front wheels while adhering to India’s Bharat Stage 6 emission regulations.
An array of features include a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster display, Honda Connect telematics with smartwatch support, 17-inch wheels, a sunroof, a reverse camera, LaneWatch, Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Start Assist, and the Honda Sensing suite, which consists of Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keeping Assist System, Auto High Beam, Road Departure Mitigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control and Lead Car Departure Notification.
The Honda Elevate competes in India’s highly competitive B-segment SUV market, which comprises the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
