After its debut in the Thai market a couple of months ago, Honda has officially launched the facelifted HR-V in Thailand, announcing the car’s pricing. The refreshed B-segment SUV will initially be available starting at 899,000 baht (approximately PKR 7,080,000) for the base e:HEV E variant, but this price is for a limited time only. After January 1, 2025, the price will increase to 949,000 baht (around PKR 7,470,000).
Meanwhile, the prices for the other two variants remain unchanged. The e:HEV EL is priced at 1,079,000 baht (approximately PKR 8,495,000), while the top-of-the-line e:HEV RS is available for 1,179,000 baht (around PKR 9,280,000). This is despite Honda adding more features to all models.
The new HR-V has undergone a subtle exterior update, featuring a more streamlined front bumper that eliminates the previously prominent lower “mouth.” The grille has been widened, resembling the smaller Elevate (known as the WR-V in Japan), and includes a silver bar connecting the headlights. Additionally, the updated taillights now feature slim red bars, enhancing the car’s sleeker appearance.
The Thai-market RS variant continues to feature its distinctive gloss black body kit, highlighted by a prominent front spoiler, rear bumper insert, chrome accents, and a red heartbeat motif on the front. New additions for this flagship model include matrix projector LED headlights with active cornering lamps and smoked taillights.
In other updates, the range of 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels remains available, though the 18-inch option now sports a machined two-tone finish (previously fully grey), aligning with other markets. The color options have also expanded to include a new Sand Khaki Pearl shade with a black roof, exclusive to the EL and RS variants.
Inside, the previous model’s “wraparound” center console has been replaced with a more traditional symmetrical design, featuring an additional storage compartment beneath the air conditioning controls. A new locally installed head unit includes an eight-inch touchscreen with support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Standard features now also include rear air-con vents, six speakers, and dual illuminated vanity mirrors.
Additional features exclusive to the EL variant and above include USB-C ports in the front and rear, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a Qi wireless charger. As before, the HR-V comes standard with the Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance systems, which includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with Low-Speed Follow, lane centering assist, and front departure alert.
The Thai-market HR-V remains hybrid-only, powered by an electric motor delivering 131 PS and 253 Nm of torque, supported by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated i-VTEC engine producing 106 PS and 127 Nm. This engine can also drive the front wheels at higher speeds via a lock-up clutch. Fuel efficiency is rated at 25.6 km per liter, giving the car an estimated range of over 800 km. The RS variant also includes variable-ratio steering for enhanced handling.
