Honda has launched the fifth generation CR-V compact SUV in India with prices starting from INR 28.15 lac.
This is the first time ever that the CR-V gets a diesel engine option along with a 7-seater layout in India. The diesel 2WD model is priced at INR 30.65 lac while the fully loaded top-spec AWD diesel variant costs INR 32.75 lac.

Interestingly the petrol version gets a 2.0 liter engine that makes 154bhp/189Nm paired to a CVT gearbox with a claimed efficiency of 14.4km/l. The a diesel version gets 1.6-liter engine with 120bhp/300Nm paired to 9-speed automatic gearbox. Honda claims the 2WD diesel version will return 19.5km/l, and the AWD diesel model will do 18.3km/l.
As for the equipment, there’s a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, smart boot-opening, push button start and a panoramic sunroof. The CR-V also gets an electric parking brake, auto brake hold, ABS with EBD and brake assist, vehicle stability assist, motion-adaptive EPS, hill-start assist, side airbags, multi-angle rear-view camera, left blind-spot camera view and driver attention monitor.

The 2018 Honda CR-V 7-seater will compete against SUVs such as the Ford Endeavour, Hyundai Tucson and the Toyota Fortuner.
