Hyundai has revealed the official photos of the all new third generation i20 hatchback ahead of its scheduled debut at upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March 2020.

With the latest redesign making use of Hyundai’s latest “Sensuous Sportiness” design language that was first seen on the latest Sonata, the new i20 looks even sportier than before. There is a massive mesh grille upfront, integrated with the sweptback headlights & arrow-shaped LED DRLs. The low-set nose and the steeply-rising beltline gives the new i20 a wedge-like side profile, accented by the sweeping chrome window trim and blacked-out D-pillars to render a “floating roof” look.
Towards the back there are “Z-shaped” tail lights signature s joined together by a lit chrome strip to emphasize the car’s width. A diffuser-like rear bumper insert and an intricate 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels conclude the look.

Although Hyundai hasn’t released any pictures of the interior yet, according to the company there will be major updates inside the cabin in terms of features & equipment including two 10.25-inch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, rear USB ports and an 8-speaker Bose sound system while the cabin itself will be spacious, airy and comfortable than before.
In terms of dimensions, the new i20 will be 24 mm lower, 30 mm wider and 5 mm longer than the model it’s going to replace. The stretched wheelbase offers increased space for rear passengers, and boot space has been increased by 25 liters to 351.

As for safety, the new i20 will be available with adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, lane centering assist, blind spot monitoring with engine braking and autonomous emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection. Also on offer will be front departure alert, rear cross traffic alert, parking assistant and parking sensors with an automatic braking function.
Under the hood, the i20 will get a 1.0 liter turbocharged and direct-injected three-cylinder petrol engines with 100 hp, and as a 48-volt mild hybrid with up to 120 hp. Transmission options are a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and a 6-speed manual gearbox. There is also an 83 hp 1.2 liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Hyundai in Pakistan having partnered with Nishat Group has already started their operations and have just unveiled two more cars for Pakistani market, however the company is yet to introduce any mass market option such as the i20 in our country.
