Hyundai debuted the Stargazer in Indonesia in July 2022, after which the 7-seat MPV was introduced in other regional markets. Now one year later, Hyundai is set to introduce a new variant dubbed Stargazer X, the images of which were leaked on the internet.
Decorated with crossover styling elements, the Stargazer X will be Hyundai’s answer to the likes of the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross and Suzuki XL7. While the regular Stargazer will continue to be pitted against the regular Mitsubishi Xpander, Suzuki Ertiga, and Honda BR-V in the Indonesian market.

Up front, the new Stargazer X features thick mesh inserts which look to be inspired by the new Creta, as well as a trapezoid-shaped thick silver embellishment on the lower section of the front bumper giving it a more SUV-inspired appearance. The side gets black bulging wheel arches, silver door handles and silver roof rails, and a new set of alloy wheels.
New Hyundai Stargazer X spotted
The rear end gets an extruded spoiler, a similar silver embellishment on the rear bumper surrounding thick mesh inserts, and a bold Stargazer X wordmark written above the license plate holder. These visual enhancements push the Stargazer MPV into the league of SUVs, albeit visually only. There is no information on the mechanical or interior upgrades, however, they are most likely going to be the same as the regular model.
The new Hyundai Stargazer X will likely make an appearance at the upcoming 2023 GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show). According to Woojune Cha, President of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, the Stargazer X model will give more options to customers who prefer MPVs with an SUV look.

The Stargazer is one of the few vehicles that Hyundai-Nishat should have considered for introduction in Pakistan. While the company launched the far more expensive Staria van last year, which no one is interested in purchasing, a less expensive & more practical Hyundai Staria should be considered to target those who need a quality 7-seater and has nothing else to choose apart from the obsolete Honda BR-V.
