Famous business tycoon Javed Afridi, well known as the owner of PSL franchise Peshawar Zalmi and the key figure behind MG (Morris Garages) cars in Pakistan, has just teased the MG Gloster SUV.
Javed Afridi enjoys a strong fan following on social media and often teases various MG cars with photos & videos as well as updates related to his other activities which include the recent hints on arrival of Tesla in Pakistan.

MG had earlier teased the Gloster SUV on its Facebook page in November 2020. According to a company official who confidently claimed that “We are going to spoil car consumers with options” reflects the fact that MG won’t just be sitting idle waiting for its plant to complete but will reportedly flood the market with CBU imports by the time its able to start local production.

Apparently the images belong to an Indian automotive website NamasteCar, which has more details, pictures & video (below) of the anticipated SUV. MG Gloster is a rebadged Maxus D90 originally intended to be sold in Indian market. The 7-seat mid-sized SUV rides on a ladder-on-frame chassis and is powered by 2.0 liter turbo-diesel engine in both 2WD and 4WD configurations & competes against the likes of Toyota Fortuner.
The Gloster will come equipped with loads of features such as 12.3” floating touchscreen multimedia unit, multi-toned wooden trim interior, leather seats/ dash/ door panels, flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel, MID display, electronic drive selector, panoramic sky roof, power tailgate and much more. Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and BA, stability control systems, automatic park assist, hill start assist and descent control, front collision warning & automatic emergency braking to name a few.

The company has already launched the HS crossover SUV and just revealed the prices of their ZS model which is touted as the cheapest crossover SUV in Pakistan at PKR 4.1 million. The Gloster competes against the likes of Toyota Fortuner and will be likely priced in the PKR 7.0 million+ territory signaling alarms for the Toyota rival that is currently priced between PKR 76.99 lac for the base G variant and PKR 93.99 lac for the top-spec TRD Sportivo version.
