Following the price revisions by Toyota and Honda amid Rupee depreciation against the US Dollar, Kia has also revised the prices of its vehicles in Pakistan.

Earlier in June, the company had launched the Grand Carnival Luxury MPV and Frontier 1-ton pickup in our market. The Grand Carnival was priced from PKR 39.99 lac for the standard LX version and PKR 47.99 lac for the fully loaded EX version. Price of the Frontier standard version was PKR 19.99 lac whereas the Frontier XL version was priced at PKR 20.49 lac.
Now the prices of Grand Carnival variants have been increased from PKR 250,000 to up to 350,000, whereas that of Frontier has been revised by PKR 50,000. The new prices of Grand Carnival are now Rs 42.5 lacs for the standard LX version and Rs 51.5 lacs for the fully loaded EX version. The Frontier pickup now cost Rs 20.49 lac for the base model and Rs 20.99 lac for the XL version.

Both Grand Carnival MPV and the Frontier pickup were yet to pick up sales in decent numbers. What will be impact of this price increases on the sales of both these vehicles is yet to be seen though. On the other hand, the company is also in process of introducing the Sportage SUV and Rio & Picanto hatchbacks but hasn’t given any timeframe for the launch of these vehicles.
