Lamborghini has officially introduced the Revuelto flagship sports car in India, with prices starting at INR 8.89 crore (ex-showroom, before options). The Aventador’s spiritual successor, which made its global debut earlier this year in March, boasts the Italian manufacturer’s new V12 engine, which is now mated with a hybrid powertrain.
Powering the Lamborghini Revuelto is a 6.5L V12 petrol engine that generates 825hp of power and 725Nm of torque. Together with the hybrid motor takes the combined output to a whopping 1015hp. Power is sent to the wheels via a new 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Revuelto is claimed to sprint 100km/h from a standstill in just 2.5 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 350km/h.
The new Lamborghini Revuelto is designed with Y-shaped elements throughout, including the LED DRLs. Everything else is new, but the wedge-shaped profile that has become iconic for Lamborghini has not changed. The side profile gains recognizable scissor doors and a staggered wheel arrangement of 20 and 21 inches, while the front and rear receive new bumpers.
Inside, along with numerous Y-shaped elements, the interior design also features a Y-shaped layout that is nearly universal, even extending to the center console’s design that blends in with the dashboard. There are 3 screens: a 12.3-inch driver’s display, an 8.4-inch screen for the passenger positioned horizontally, and a 9.1-inch touchscreen system. Furthermore, with the help of the company’s Ad Personam division, Lamborghini provides an extensive array of customization choices.
The Lamborghini Revuelto is based on a new aeronautics-inspired chassis, the ‘monofuselage’. As well as a monocoque made entirely of multi-technology carbon fiber, it features a front structure in forged composites, a special material made of short carbon fibers soaked in resin. It is the first super sports car to be fitted with a 100% carbon fiber front structure.
Lamborghini has equipped the Revuelto with an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) with the package including active lane departure warning (ALDW), lane change warning (LCW), adaptive cruise control (ACC), and rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA), among others. Commenting on the launch, Francesco Scardaoni, Region Director, Asia Pacific, Automobili Lamborghini said:
“We are excited to present the Revuelto to our Lamborghini customers and fans in India. Being one of the fastest growing markets for Lamborghini, we continue to witness a strong demand from India in the Asia Pacific region. The new Revuelto sets the stage for an era of super sports car evolution in the hybridization phase, and it is also a significant milestone for the brand as we commemorate Lamborghini’s 60th anniversary. I believe that this car is an interpretation of the brand going beyond, and how we revolutionized the automotive world with our iconic V12. This model will excite not just the loyal V12 customers in this region but also all clients who want to own a piece of the first Lamborghini Super Sports V12 Hybrid HPEV.”
