Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) is on the verge of formally launching Peugeot cars in Pakistan. The company on its official website has revealed 8 dealerships which are distributed across 6 major cities of the country.
According to the Peugeot Pakistan website, initially 2 dealerships each are located in Karachi and Lahore while 1 dealership is present in Islamabad, Sialkot, Faisalabad and Gujranwala. The company is also expected to further expand its dealership network in future.
LMC will position Peugeot as a ‘premium’ car brand in Pakistan and will produce small volumes of niche product (Peugeot) on the back of high-volume manufacturing of Kia brand. According to the website:
“The company is all set to assemble and distribute premium European car brand Peugeot for the firm time in Pakistan, exploring the possibilities of distributing multiple models and variants by earlier next year. Leveraging the manufacturing at its production facility at Port Qasim, LMC is all set to take the initiative of €10 million, to produce small volumes of this niche product.”
As previously stated by the CEO of LMC Mr. Asif Rizvi, LMC is set to create history in the automobile industry of Pakistan by manufacturing and distributing two different international brands under one roof and ushering in an era of multi-brand car companies. The company will begin its operation by launching the Peugeot 2008 crossover most likely towards November 2021, whereas two more crossovers namely 3008 and 5008 will join the local lineup in 2022.
