Maruti Begins Exporting Suzuki Fronx to Japan

Maruti has commenced the export of the Suzuki Fronx from India to Japan. This marks a noteworthy development in the history of Suzuki’s global operations, as the Fronx becomes the second Suzuki model to be exported from India to Japan, following the Baleno’s successful export in 2016. Remember that the Fronx has been exported from India to various global markets including South Africa and Latin America since July 2023.

The first consignment of over 1,600 vehicles has been dispatched from Gujarat’s Pipavav port. Slated to go on sale in Japan in the autumn of 2024, the Fronx rides on the Heartect platform and comes with two engine options: a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 89 hp and 113 Nm and a 1.0L turbocharged petrol unit that churns out 99 hp and 148 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, a 5-speed AMT, and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
