Maruti Dzire Surpasses 25 Lac Units Sales Milestone in India

The Swift Dzire, Maruti Suzuki’s sole sedan sold through the Arena chain in India, has recently surpassed the 25 lac sales mark since its introduction. Notably, it controls a 50% market share in the nation. The automaker added that no rival sedan to the Dzire has yet to reach the million-unit sales mark.

The Dzire is currently available in four variants, including petrol and CNG versions, namely LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus. The compact sedan has an ex-showroom starting price of INR 6.51 lac and can cost up to INR 9.38 lac.

Commenting on the milestone, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said:

Maruti Dzire is powered by a BS-VI compliant K12N 1.2-liter Dual-Jet Dual VVT engine with idle start-stop function. The engine generates 90 hp of power and 113 Nm of torque and a rated fuel economy of 23.26 km/liter for manual and 24.12 km/liter for the AMT variant. This also makes Dzire the most fuel-efficient sedan in its segment in the Indian market.

In terms of safety the Maruti Suzuki Dzire facelift is available with new safety features including ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and HHC (Hill Hold Control) restricted to the AMT versions. Standard safety features include dual airbags, ABS, driver & front passenger seat belt reminder, speed-alert system, and rear parking sensors, etc.

In addition to great success within the Indian market, Maruti Dzire is also exported to a number of markets including the Philippines, South Africa, Chile, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka.
