MG has launched the Astor crossover SUV in India boasting several best-in-segment features. The Astor is basically the ZS facelift that was revealed in other Asian markets earlier this month.
Four variants are available namely Style, Super, Smart, and Sharp while customers can choose from 5 color options including Spiced Orange, Aurora Silver, Glaze Red, Candy White, and Starry Black. Like the MG ZS facelift, the fascia of MG Astor gets a bold celestial grille flanked by full-LED headlamps. The leopard jump shoulder line in the sides enhances the sporty character whereas the rear section gets LED taillights and the Astor lettering on the boot lid.

Inside, the dual tone interior offers panoramic sunroof, push-button engine start/stop with smart entry, 60:40 split rear seats, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, 6-way power adjustable seats, PM 2.5 filter, rear ac vents and auto aircon. The top-spec Smart and Sharp variants gets i-SMART technology with over 80 connected car features. The ADAS with Autonomous level-2 features is available as an optional pack in the flagship variants.

There are two engines available. There is a naturally aspirated 1.5L VTi that generates 108hp and 144Nm and comes available in manual as well as an 8-speed CVT gearbox. The other is a 1.3L Turbo that generates 138hp of power and staggering 220Nm of torque & gets a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard. According to MG India, it is targeting to roll out at least 5000 units of the Astor before the end of this year.

The MG Astor in India is priced from INR 9.78 lac (PKR 22.32 lac) for the base variant and goes as high as INR 16.78 lac (PKR 38.3 lac) for the flagship version. MG says the introductory prices will remain intact till 2021, however from 2022 the prices will be revised.
