MG opened the bookings for the Astor crossover SUV in India on the 21st of October and the vehicle was all sold out for year 2021 within minutes. MG aims to deliver 5,000 units of the newly launched Astor within this year with deliveries set to commence from the first week of November.
The MG Astor was introduced in India to battle a fierce competition against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun against a very competitive price tag starting from INR 9.78 lac. According to Rajeev Chaba, President & MD of MG Motor India:
“MG Astor is a premium mid-segment SUV with elegant exterior, luxurious interior, and futuristic technology. We are ecstatic about the response we have received from the customers. However, given the global chip crisis that the industry is undergoing, we can only supply a limited number of cars this year. We expect supplies to become better from Q1 next year.”
MG Astor is India’s first crossover SUV with first-in-segment autonomous Level-2 technology and boasts 80+ connected car features, as well as a personal AI unit placed at the center of the dashboard. The vehicle is loaded with an array of safety features & equipment and comes available in two engine & two transmission options in Indian market.
