MG ZS EV Achieves 10,000 Sales Milestone in India

MG India has announced that its ZS EV has surpassed the 10,000 sales mark in India. Launched in 2020, the MG ZS EV in India comes available in two variants— Excite and Exclusive, priced at INR 23.38 lac and INR 27.29 lac (ex-showroom), respectively.

MG offers the ZS EV with 6 charging options: DC super-fast chargers, AC fast chargers, AC fast chargers at MG dealerships, portable chargers with ZS EV, and 24X7 RSA – for mobile charging support, MG Charge Initiative, which aims to install 1000 AC fast chargers within community spaces across India in 1000 days. The company also installs an AC fast charger free of cost at the home or office of the ZS EV owners.

The MG ZS EV is powered by a 50.3 kWh prismatic cell battery, offering a claimed range of 461 km on a single charge. The electric SUV is equipped with a motor, which churns out a peak power of 173 hp of power and a max torque of 280 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds.

In terms of interior, the MG ZS EV gets a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system and a 7.0-inch fully-digital instrument cluster. Some key features of the electric SUV include a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a PM 2.5 air filter, a digital key with Bluetooth technology, a rear-drive assist, a 360-degree camera with rear parking sensors, and Hill Descent Control. The MG i-Smart offers over 75 connected car features.

MG recently launched the Comet EV, its second electric model in the Indian market. It sits in the introductory price range of INR 7.98 lac to INR 9.98 lac (ex-showroom). With two electric cars in its product portfolio now, MG is aiming to clock combined volumes of almost 24,000 units for EV models in 2023.
