Images of the Chery Omoda 3 compact SUV have surfaced in China, as the second model in the lineup after Omoda 5. The Omoda 3 for export markets is based on the Chery Tiggo 3x, which received an extensive makeover for the 2023 model year.
The Omoda 3 resembles almost identical to its sister model, with the same dual-tier lighting setup at the front. The upper LED daytime running lights have a distinct identity with dashed lines that appear to integrate into the upper grille, while the main headlamps and fog lamps are located in the corners of the lower apron.

A rising beltline, black body cladding, a dual-tone paint job, and a set of 17-inch wheels (shod with 205/50 profile tires) can all be seen when looking at the car from the side. The Omoda 3’s rear end features high-mounted taillights joined by what appears to be a light bar that spans the tailgate and is connected by silver trim at the bottom of the bumper.

Inside, the multi-tone interior is dominated by a sizable touchscreen entertainment system, which is flanked by a digital instrument panel. While the center console features a covered part for a storage cubby right in front of the gear lever and controls for other vehicle functions. The physical controls for the air conditioning system are located here, just below the central air vents.

No powertrain details are available for now, but since the Omoda 3 is closely related to the Tiggo 3x, we can expect it to have the latter’s 1.5L naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that’s good for 114 hp of power and 143 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT gearbox featuring 9 virtual speeds.

As exclusively reported by us earlier this year, Chery is conducting a feasibility study to launch the Omoda brand in Pakistan. As with other markets including South Africa, Chery will employ a completely different team to run the Omoda brand in our country. Hence it will have separate dealerships other than the ones which sell the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro & Tiggo 8 Pro crossovers in Pakistan. However, given the continued economic concerns, it will be interesting to see if the Omoda brand makes its way here.
