South Korean automaker Kia is on a fast track to launch new models and update the existing ones in its lineup. The latest in the array of offerings will come in form of the 4th generation Kia Carnival (also called as Kia Sedona/ Grand Carnival in certain markets) by mid 2020.
According to information the 4th gen Kia Carnival will make its world debut at the 2020 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) in April and will go on sale starting from its home market (South Korea) in July.
As per available information, the all new Kia Carnival (KA4) will measure 5,155 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width and 1,740 mm in height, making it 40 mm longer and 10 mm wider than the current generation (YP) model but height will remain same. The existing 3,060 mm wheelbase will see an increase of 30 mm making it 3,090 mm for the new model.
Spy shots of heavily camouflaged test mules have already appeared on the internet. The new Kia Carnival will feature newly designed headlamps with embedded angular DRLs, tweaked front grille featuring a more three-dimensional design and also new 19-inch diamond-cut alloy-wheels as evident from the pictures.
Reportedly the new Carnival will share its platform with the all new Kia Sorento which is also on the verge of making its debut. Like the existing model, the 4th gen Carnival will be available in three- and four-row seating layouts. As for engines, in addition to conventional petrol and diesel options, a plug-in hybrid version will also be available in some markets.
Kia marked their comeback in Pakistan with the launch of 3rd gen Grand Carnival in 2018. Available with a 3.3 liter V6 engine, the Kia Grand Carnival comes in 2 trims– LX and EX and is priced at PKR 48.99 lac and PKR 64.99 lac respectively. It will obviously take a couple of years for the company to consider bringing in the all new Grand Carnival in Pakistan.
