Pak Suzuki has officially launched the Vitara compact SUV in Pakistan in a grand launch event held on the 21st of December 2016.
Vitara carries a 1.6 liter M16A naturally aspirated petrol engine and will be available in two trims, the GL+ and GLX. The GL+ is priced at PKR 34.9 lac while the fully loaded version, the GLX is priced at PKR 37.99 lac.
The launch of the Vitara is obviously a bold & appreciable move by Pak Suzuki, and unlike Kizashi which was a global disaster, the Vitara is quite a successful car in international markets, and is indeed quite an impressive vehicle in terms of looks as well as features offered.

Being part of the production team which worked on the Vitara TV commercial (yet to be aired), and a hands-on experience with the ride myself, I can safely say its way better than anything built locally. However in this price bracket, even a Honda HR-V has been struggling to move out of the showrooms, so let’s see if Vitara is able to attract buyers. Nonetheless, the new Suzuki Vitara is an attractive package.
