Stellantis has unveiled the new Peugeot e-5008 electric SUV, nearly six months after the e-3008 made its debut. These two models usually have identical technology with both riding on the new STLA Medium platform having pure electric & combustion variants, but differ in size and interior space.
The e-5008 is a large SUV measuring 4,790 mm long and a 2,900 mm wheelbase. For reference, the 3rd gen Kia Sorento available here measures 4,760 mm with a 2,780 mm wheelbase which makes the e-5008 marginally larger than the South Korean 3-row, 7-seat SUV.
According to Peugeot, the styling of the e-5008 suggests movement: from the rear window, whose inclination is emphasized by sophisticated side design elements, to the front end that incorporates the new light signature and the full-width grille that blends into a shade of the body color. The grille is highlighted by a slender, sleek black fascia that wraps around the entire front of the E-5008 and has ultra-slim LED headlamps on all models. Moreover, the number of decorative inserts on the bodywork has been reduced and chrome parts removed in favor of paint on some elements: Meteor Grey on the front skirts and rear bumper, Orbital Black on the mirror shells, and lower beltline.
Inside, Peugeot has brought together two of the three fundamental elements of the i-Cockpit, the head-up instrument cluster and the large central touch screen. These are now integrated into a curved panoramic screen consisting of a single 21-inch high-definition panel extending from the left-hand end of the dashboard to the center console.

The second-row seats of the 3-row SUV offer an adjustable sofa backrest, which is divided in the proportion of 40/20/40, separate climate control, and window blinds. The third row is a pair of seats and an additional 80-liter niche for things. By the way, following the increase in size, the trunk of the Peugeot e-5008 can be enhanced in useful volume: at least 259 liters (seven seats), or 748 liters (five seats), or even 1,815 liters (two seats).

The powertrain options include three motor and battery combinations to choose from. The highlight is a 98 kWh battery paired with a 230 hp electric motor for an impressive driving range of 660 km of range. Then there is a 73k Wh battery with a 210 hp motor that can yield up to 500 km of range. Lastly, there is a dual-motor variant with a 320 hp motor and a 73kWh battery which offers the same 500 km of range.
Peugeot e-5008 also has a hybrid version available which uses a 136 hp petrol engine paired to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, that works in tandem with an electric motor to boost efficiency. Later, a plug-in hybrid model will also join the lineup in 2025. It will use a 150 hp petrol engine paired with a 120 hp electric motor for a combined power output of 195hp, and be able to do 79 km on electric power alone.
