The Seres 3 EV is scheduled to land in the UK this spring, marking the continuation of China’s invasion of Europe. Set to be distributed by the local partner IA Electric Vehicles, the crossover will be priced from £29,995 and will undercut the likes of £30,195 BYD Dolphin as well as the £30,495 MG ZS EV. It will also be cheaper than a number of EVs from European brands.

In terms of appearance, the UK-spec Seres 3 is a bit different than the one recently introduced in Pakistan having a unique fascia and reworked bumpers. Although exact specifications are yet to be revealed, IA Electric Vehicles says the entry-level Active trim will come “generously furnished” with a rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, key-less ignition, air conditioning, “leather-style” seats, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system alongside LED headlamps & 18-inch alloys.
The top-spec variant will get heated front seats, a wireless smartphone charger, and a panoramic sunroof. Other highlights include a passive entry system, power-folding mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, and an upgraded audio system with 6 speakers. In terms of safety, even the base model comes equipped with 6 airbags, stability control, and a tire pressure monitoring system – among other things.

Power comes from a 54 kWh lithium-ion battery, which powers a motor developing 161 hp (120 kW) and 195 Nm. This setup enables the Seres 3 to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.9 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 155 km/h. The Seres 3 is slated to have a combined WLTP range of 330 km and a city range of 507 km. When the battery is low, it can go from a 20% to 80% charge in as little as 30 minutes.
