Tesla Cybertruck Explodes Outside Trump Hotel- 1 Killed 7 Injured

A Tesla Cybertruck parked outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, exploded and caught fire, resulting in one fatality and at least seven injuries.

The explosion happened shortly after the electric pickup truck stopped in front of the hotel lobby. CCTV footage shared on X captured the dramatic blast, showing flames tearing through the Tesla. The footage also reveals that the explosion triggered several fireworks.

An eyewitness to the explosion and fire recounted seeing the Tesla pull up to the lobby before it “lowered itself like a bus.” They wrote on X:

“My husband and I were standing exactly where the luggage is in the footage. I saw the Tesla pull up, and it lowered itself like a bus, and then—boom—it exploded. At first, it looked like fireworks or something, but I immediately feared for our lives, thinking it could be a bomb, and we ran.”

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department disclosed that gasoline canisters, camp fuel canisters, and firework mortars were discovered in the Cybertruck’s bed. Authorities suspect these items were linked to a detonation system activated by the driver. The Tesla had been rented from Colorado via Turo. The alleged bomber has been identified as 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger, a U.S. Army veteran.

In a post on X, Elon Musk wrote Tesla is investigating the matter. ”We have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck and is unrelated to the vehicle itself,” Musk wrote.
