Toyota has filed a trademark registration with the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) Thailand under application number 240156667. The registrant, Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha (commonly known as Toyota Motor Corporation), has filed for the trademark name HILUX TRAVO. This name is anticipated to be used for the next-generation Toyota Hilux.
The name “Travo” is likely to serve as the suffix for the new Toyota Hilux, which is set to make its global debut in 2025. This follows Toyota’s traditional naming strategy for previous generations of the Hilux, starting with the Hilux Vigo, followed by the Hilux Revo, and now potentially the Hilux Travo. However, for confirmation, we’ll need to wait for the official information from Toyota.
According to preliminary information, the new Hilux Travo will feature a completely redesigned front and rear. However, the cabin structure and side body shell will remain unchanged from the previous model, following a similar approach to the new Camry, which shares its engineering structure and certain body shell components with its predecessor.
The new Hilux is expected to retain the GD diesel engine family while incorporating upgrades to meet EURO5 and EURO6 emission standards. Additionally, the new Hilux will likely feature an electronic power steering system (EPS)
