Toyota has launched an extremely sporty version of their most recent Prius in advance of this weekend’s celebration of the 24 Hours of Le Mans’ 100th anniversary. The model, which has the official name “Prius 24h Le Mans Centennial GR Edition,” honors the legendary endurance race and its significance in the Japanese automaker’s advancement of racing hybrid technology since 2012.
Toyota has won 5 straight Le Mans races since 2018 and is currently the defending champion. The GR010 Hybrid is participating this year in the hopes of extending the record with a sixth straight victory.
Toyota Prius 24h Le Mans Centennial GR Edition
The GR-modified Prius you see here, which includes various motorsport-like components, was inspired by that hybrid race vehicle. A carbon fiber bonnet and an aerodynamic package made up of new side skirts, front canards, a sizable back wing, and a noticeable rear diffuser are some of these.

The GR Edition of the Prius has larger wheel arches than the original Prius in order to fit 235/50 profile Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on black 18-inch rims with a wider track made possible by updated suspension components. Moreover, Toyota replaced the front bumper with a new one that features a large, rectangular grille, a lip spoiler, and square clusters of LED headlamps, the latter of which is similar to the headlamps on its GR010 Hybrid. There was no mention of any performance-enhancing changes to the hybrid powertrain.
