Toyota has released a limited-edition special version of the GR86 called the 40th Anniversary Limited to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 1983 launch of the Toyota Corolla AE86. Only 200 units will be made available in Japan, where customers must enter a lottery to be eligible to purchase one.
Based on the current RZ grade, the GR86 40th Anniversary Limited is available in just two colors: Spark Red or Crystal White Pearl. Both choices come with unique decals that pay homage to the AE86’s red/black and white/black two-tone themes.
To remind occupants they are in a special place, the interior door trims also have an embroidered ‘Since 1983 40th’ script that is also applied to the floor mats. The 6-speed manual version of the commemorative model retails for 3.822 million yen (PKR 74.0 lac), while the 6-speed automatic version costs more at 3.92 million yen (PKR 75.9 lac).

Besides the 40th Anniversary Limited edition, the standard Toyota GR86 also receives a number of updates, beginning with the inclusion of Subaru’s EyeSight driver assistance system as standard equipment on manual gearbox versions (it was previously available only on automatic).
Other updates include improved VSC control for better driving stability and safety performance, optional blind spot monitoring for the lower SZ grade (standard on the higher RZ grade), and optional blind spot monitoring for the higher SZ grade. Toyota now offers Brembo brakes and Sachs dampers as options for SZ grades and higher; these are standard on the 40th Anniversary Limited. Toyota also modified the electronic throttle output characteristics for improved controllability.
The SZ grade of the GR86 is priced at 3.153 million yen (PKR 61.05 lac) for the manual and 3.251 million yen (PKR 62.93 lac) for the automatic, while the RZ is 3.476 million yen (PKR 67.29 lac) for the manual and 3.574 million yen (PKR 69.18 lac) for the automatic.
