Toyota Sport Crossover Concept Debuts in Europe

The Toyota Sport Crossover Concept debuted in Europe at the automaker’s recent Kenshiki conference in Brussels, Belgium. The display car was first shown at this year’s Auto Shanghai in April as the bZ Sport Crossover Concept alongside the bZ FlexSpace Concept, serving to showcase a new electric vehicle (EV) that will be marketed in the region in 2025.

As seen at Auto Shanghai, the concept features Toyota’s new hammerhead signature lighting characteristic at the front, as well as a fastback form and sharp aero design. The design includes prominent creases and wheel arches, as well as taillights that resemble the front design and are connected by a ducktail spoiler.

Unlike the bZ concept displayed in China, the Sport Crossover Concept shown in Europe is shown in a different color and removes the roof-mounted LiDAR sensor as well as the front fender garnish.

Interior hasn’t been revealed at the moment, but it should look like the rendering presented at the Auto Shanghai concept, which has a minimalistic cabin with curved displays and a yoke-style steering wheel. Describing the concept, Toyota in its official release says:

“It will provide an attractive proposition for first-time electric car customers and a stylish alternative to SUVs. It offers maximum comfort combined with the practicality of five doors, a large boot, and generous rear leg room.”

According to information, the Sport Crossover Concept was developed by BYD Toyota EV Technology (BTET), a Chinese joint venture between Toyota and BYD. The production model will be one of 6 dedicated EVs that the Japanese automaker intends to launch in Europe by 2026.
