Xiaomi experienced a brilliant first year of its presence in the automotive landscape delivering over 135,000 units in 2024. The SU7 EV, which went on sale in March 2024 with an initial target of 100,000 units for the year, saw its delivery goal adjusted in June after production was scaled to 20,000 monthly units. Remarkably, Xiaomi surpassed its original target within just 9 months of launching the vehicle.
Now for 2025, Xiaomi Auto has tripled its initial sales target, aiming to deliver an impressive 300,000 units within the year. This was revealed by the company founder and CEO Lei Jun during the New Year’s Eve broadcast.
Jun revealed that 30% of Xiaomi car buyers order their vehicles online without a test drive. Unlike the traditional dealership model, Xiaomi sells its cars directly to customers. In 2024, Xiaomi Auto established 200 stores across 58 cities in China, Jun concluded.

The Xiaomi SU7, a rival to the Tesla Model 3, starts at 215,900 yuan ($29,570 USD) in China. This nearly 5-meter-long sedan features a 3-meter wheelbase and offers impressive battery options. The entry-level variant comes with a 73.6 kWh BYD LFP battery, delivering a CLTC range of 700 km. Meanwhile, the top-tier SU7 Max is equipped with a 101 kWh CATL NMC battery, providing an 800 km range and powering dual electric motors with a combined output of 495 kW (664 hp) and 838 Nm of peak torque.
Xiaomi has two major launches planned for 2025. In March, the company will introduce the SU7 Ultra, a high-performance version of the SU7 sedan boasting 1,526 hp and 1,770 Nm of peak torque. This EV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 5.86 seconds. The SU7 Ultra prototype gained attention by completing the Nürburgring in 6:46.87 despite a wet track and a 12-second power loss at the 4:12 mark. Pre-sales for the SU7 Ultra began in October at 814,900 yuan ($114,200 USD). Xiaomi’s second launch, the YU7 electric SUV, is scheduled for mid 2025.
