Pak Suzuki launched the current Swift hatchback in Pakistan back on the 24th of February 2024, the zippy hatchback has now completed 2 years in the country.
Unlike the previous Suzuki Swift in Pakistan, which was dragged for over a decade despite being one of the country’s worst-selling cars, the new Swift’s sales performance is quite impressive.
Since making its debut two years ago, the new Suzuki Swift has been able to find 17,818 buyers of which, 12,833 units were sold in 2022 but the dreadful market slowdown in the following year caused only 4,433 units to be sold in 2023. In January 2024, Swift was the second bestselling car in Pak Suzuki’s lineup although only 522 units were sold.

Despite bearing a higher price tag, the Swift has become popular due to its attractive styling, an impressive list of features (the previous Swift was grossly under-equipped), and a fuel-efficient K12C engine which is a huge plus factor compared to the thirsty M13A unit offered with the preceding model.
As of the first 7 months of this fiscal year, the Swift remains the second bestselling car (behind the Alto) in Pak Suzuki’s lineup with 2,782 units. However, the figure is 64% less compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year when 7,640 units were sold. Although Swift’s sales have undoubtedly declined from its debuting year, given the challenges facing the industry and the declining sales of Pak Suzuki, its performance is still superior to that of the more affordable models in the company’s lineup.
