Suzuki Swift Crosses 2 Million Sales Milestone in India

Suzuki Swift, one of Maruti’s bestselling cars have crossed the 2 million cumulative sales milestone in India. The company reported the sales of the first 1 million units in November 2013, which means the next million units were sold in just 5 years.

The Swift is so popular in India that the sales of the current (4th generation) model crossed 1 lac units in just 145 days of its launch. Between May 2018 and October 2018, the Swift has posted an average monthly sales of 19,322 units.

Speaking on its magnificent sales performance, RS Kalsi, senior executive director at Maruti, said:

The 4th generation Swift was launched in India in February 2018 and is available with two engine options– a 1.2-liter K12M four-cylinder petrol engine and 1.3-liter DDiS four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. Both the engines are available with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, while a 5-speed AMT is available as an option.

The base model Swift LXi starts from just INR 4.99 lac (PKR 9.4 lac) whereas the top-spec ZDi AMT cost INR 8.76 lac (PKR 16.5 lac).
