The Avanza facelift appears to have taken the design inspiration from Toyota Vellfire. Up front, there is a bolder face highlighted by an aggressive bumper with concaved sections for the fog lamps. The bumper design also hints some similarities to the Mitsubishi Xpander– the 7-seat MPV that has created real troubles for Toyota Avanza and Honda BR-V alike. Also prominent is a set of two-tier headlamps that are separated in the middle by body-colored trim, much like the Vellfire.

The rear end gets new red reflectors that are slimmer in shape. At the center there is a chrome ingot that leads into the revised vertical taillights. Further down, the additional reflectors have been reshaped and positioned near small slits at the corners of the rear bumper.

Inside, the layout of the dashboard is almost unchanged, however there are more up-market features included such as buttons and a screen for the air-conditioning system instead of two dials, keyless start, improved materials and an updated head unit.

As before, the Avanza will be offered as standard or Veloz versions, the latter boasts tweaked front and rear ends to project a sportier look. The new Avanza will be available with a 1.3 liter (98hp/120 Nm) or 1.5 liter engine (107hp/136 Nm), paired with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.

In Pakistan, Toyota Avanza is the least popular model sold by Indus Motor Company (IMC) since 2011. After Suzuki APV it was the second 7 seater MPV to be offered in Pakistan by a local manufacturer, although the Avanza has been sold as an import ever since. The Toyota Avanza in Pakistan is currently priced at PKR 41.3 lac and grace the showroom floors rather than local roads.
