2020 Hyundai Creta Launched in India Priced from INR 9.99 Lac

Hyundai has launched the 2nd generation Creta subcompact crossover in India priced from INR 9.99 lac and goes as high as INR 17.2 lac for the flagship variants. The vehicle is also known as ix25 in certain markets including China where its latest generation debuted in April last year.

The 2020 Hyundai Creta measures 4,300 mm long, 1,635 mm wide and 1,790 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,610 mm. It comes available with 3 engine options– a 1.5-liter MPi petrol, a 1.5-liter CRDi VGT diesel and a turbocharged 1.4-liter T-GDi petrol unit. The engines are paired to a 6-speed MT/CVT, a 6-speed MT/6-speed AT and a 7-speed DCT respectively.

Fuel economy figures are rated at 16.8 km/l & 16.9 km/l for the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol MT & CVT respectively, turbocharged petrol version delivers 16.9 km/l, whereas the diesel returns up to 21.4 km/l with manual and 18.5 km/l with automatic.

Like its predecessor, the 2nd generation Hyundai Creta is packed with a bunch of premium features including split LED headlamps and tail lamps, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, dual-tip exhaust and puddle lamps among the exterior highlights.

Inside the new Creta features a voice-enabled smart panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats with 8-way power adjustment for the driver seat, blue ambient lighting, rear-seat headrest cushion, touch-enabled air purifier, electric parking brake, paddle shifters, 7-inch Supervision Cluster and much more.

In terms of safety, the 2020 Hyundai Creta packs 6 airbags, rear disc brakes, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) and rear camera, etc.

Hyundai has received 14,000 pre-bookings for the 2020 Creta ever since it appeared at Auto Expo last month. Upon launch, it will compete against the likes of Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur, MG Hector and Tata Harrier in the Indian market.
