It’s fascinating to see how different regions define a ‘best in market’ car, shaped by their unique needs and cultural preferences.

For instance, the 2024 World Car of the Year went to the massive, all-electric Kia EV9, while last year’s Wheels Car of the Year was the impressive Ford Everest—equally sizable but powered entirely by a combustion engine. But this year’s Car of the Year in Japan is none other than Honda Freed.
