Proton is on the verge of introducing the X70 facelift as camouflaged test mules have started appearing on Malaysia’s roads hinting at the imminent arrival of the refreshed model.
Since the updates will mostly incorporate changes to the front fascia and rear bumper, only those parts of the test mules have been covered with a camouflaging livery. Still looking at the shape of the headlamps, it is quite certain that the Proton X70 facelift will be based on the 2022 update of its donor model— the Geely Boyue (pictured below).
Still, as previously, the Proton X70 facelift will differ from its donor Boyue model with cosmetic changes, including the grille, LED DRLs, and perhaps the rear light signatures. Furthermore, the test mule’s wheels are also concealed, hinting at a new design that appears to be 5-spoked. The interior of the X70 facelift is yet unseen, however it is expected to be similar to that of the Geely model.
