The all-new Changan Lumin Corn mini EV has been officially unveiled in China. The tiny electric vehicle will take on the likes of Wuling Mini EV, Chery QQ Ice Cream, and other city-cars in a segment that has grown tremendously within the last few years in Chinese domestic market.

The Lumin Corn is based on Changan’s EPA0 platform, and measures 3,270 mm long, 1,700 mm wide and 1,545 mm tall with a wheelbase of 1,980 mm. To better understand its small size, the Suzuki FX we had here was 3,195 mm long, 1,395 mm wide and 1,335 mm tall with a 2,150 mm wheelbase.
When the Lumin Corn will be launched, it will have two versions with LFP batteries of 12.92 kWh and 17.65 kWh capacity. The specified range is between 155 km and 210 km. Later, the Lumin Corn with a 27.99 kWh battery for a 301 km range will also be made available. It has a single electric motor (FWD) for 30 kW (41 hp) whereas a 35 kW (48 hp) motor will also be available in later stages.

In terms of looks, the Lumin Corn has a very pleasing appearance with circular LED headlights and tail lamps, smoothed profile and pop-out door handles. Inside, the simple yet attractive interior comes in a variety of color combination options and has a floating 10.25-inch touchscreen having navigation, phone, music, radio, and autonomous driving functions.

Below which there are hazard lights, engine start/stop button, climate control, USB port and 12V charger. Other highlights include a multi-color flat-bottomed multi-function steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster, whereas the central tunnel features a rotary gear selector and a button for selecting a driving mode, as well as switches for power windows and door locks.

According to Changan, the Lumin Corn has a 3-year/ 120,000-km warranty in China. As for the electric system, it has a warranty for 8 years or 120,000 km. The Lumin Corn will go on sales in Chinese domestic market during the second half of 2022.
