Chinese auto giant Chery has released official photos of the Jetour T-1 off-road SUV as it begins conducting extensive winter testing in China. Jetour is a sub-brand under Chery’s umbrella & is aimed specifically toward younger car buyers. The brand currently has 13 different SUVs in its portfolio including one pure EV.
First previewed as the Jetour T-X concept in 2022, the Jetour T-1 will compete against GWM’s Tank 300, the car that actually started the subcompact off-road craze in China. The Jetour T-1 will be available in 5-seater and lengthened 7-seater versions, measuring about 4,800 mm and 4,950 mm respectively.

There will be 5 gasoline-powered and 2 hybrid variants available. Power will come from a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that outputs 254 hp and 390 Nm paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission with flappy pedals, sending power to all four wheels. A 1.6L turbo and a 1.6L turbo PHEV will also be made available in later stages.

In terms of design, the T-1 looks inspired by Ford Bronco and Landrover Defender featuring a boxier styling with big bumpers, black trim, wide wheel arches, and roof rails. Up front, there is a blackened grille accompanied by LED headlamps that makes a square shape with various dashed elements. The side boasts flushed door handles, and a floating roof design. At the back, there are vertically stacked taillights, a squarish spare wheel cover, and door hinges on top.
