Chery is conducting a feasibility study to launch Omoda 5 crossover in Pakistan, CarSpiritPK has learned from its sources. The vehicle that went into production in China in February 2022 has already been launched in RHD markets including Australia and New Zealand in August 2022 and has been confirmed for introduction in more RHD markets including South Africa, Indonesia, and Malaysia by Q2, 2023.

The Omoda 5 features Chery’s newly developed “Art in Motion” design language. It also boasts a comprehensively equipped interior utilizing two integrated and curved 10.25-inch high-definition digital screens that offer easy and intuitive control of all the car’s important driving, climate, and entertainment settings. Omoda 5 also boasts a 5-star Euro NCAP crash test rating.
Omoda 5 comes with a variety of engine options such as 1.5L naturally aspirated unit, 1.6L turbo, a 1.5L turbo with 48V mild hybrid, and 1.6L TGDI with a full hybrid system. Plus in Thailand, an electric version called OMODA 5 EV is slated to be released in the second half of 2023. At this point its unclear which engine configurations will be offered in our market.
Although the list of features & equipment is being finalized for the Pakistani market, according to sources the Omoda 5 will come as the most feature-rich vehicle in its class. Chery Omoda 5 will compete against the likes of Peugeot 2008, Honda HR-V, and Kia Stonic in our market. Stay tuned to CarSpiritPK for more information on the Chery Omoda 5 in Pakistan.
