Commerce Minister Says BYD is Considering Investment Opportunities in Pakistan

Dr. Gohar Ejaz, the caretaker Commerce Minister, stated on Thursday that the Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD is looking into opportunities for investment in Pakistan.

The minister shared the update on X (formerly Twitter) where he informed the BYD officials about the government’s policy and SIFC (Special Investment Facilitation Council), adding that new ventures will have full backing in their endeavor in the country.

BYD is the closest rival of Tesla and is well on course to dethrone the latter as the largest EV maker in the world. BYD already operates in India and a number of right-hand-driven (RHD) markets and its EVs are increasingly becoming popular all over the world.
