Dongfeng has launched the much-awaited eπ 007 sedan in China. Positioned under the new eπ high-end EV brand, the 007 sedan is the first offering in the new range of vehicles and is priced between 159,600 – 199,600 yuan ($22,200 – $27,800).
The fastback-profiled sedan measures 4,880 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,460 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,915 mm. Styling elements include slim multi-tier headlamps up front, frameless doors, hidden door handles, scissor doors (optional), and an electric rear wing that automatically adjusts based on the vehicle’s speed, reducing the drag coefficient to 0.209Cd. The rear end gets slim full-width tail lights. The flagship variant features 19-inch alloy wheels while the rest of the lineup gets 18-inch alloys.
The interior features a 15.6-inch central control screen, an 8.8-inch instrument panel for the driver, and a two-spoke multi-function steering wheel. The cockpit operation system dubbed SOA utilizes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. Despite not having lidar, Dongfeng claims that their eπ 007 can do L2 autonomous driving because of its NOA-assisted driving software (ADAS). The 007 sedan has 31 sensors installed. In addition, all variants are equipped with V2V, V2L, and V2G external discharge functions.
The car is offered in 4 variants with both EREV and BEV options. The base 200 Pro variant is an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) that has a 28.39 kWh battery, suitable for a 200 km CLTC battery-only range; and can go 1,200 km with a full tank. The electric motor has a maximum power of 160 kW and is mated with a 1.5L ICE unit. Then comes the all-electric variant 530 Pro which has a 56.83 kWh battery good for the 530 km CLTC range. The single-rear electric motor is the same as the base model.
The long-range version 620 Pro comes with a 70.26 kWh battery, which is suitable for the 620 km range. It has a single rear electric motor with 200 kW of power and 320 Nm of torque. The flagship 540 Max variant is all-wheel-drive (AWD) & comes equipped with two electric motors, delivering a combined power of 400 kW (200 kW each for the front and rear motors) and a peak torque of 640 Nm. It can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, and with a 70.26 kWh LFP battery, can run for 540 km range in a single charge under CLTC conditions.
