Chinese automaker Great Wall Motors (GWM) held a Brand Model Conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where it officially launched its new global pickup truck model– Poer King Kong for the Middle East market.
Unveiled in China last year under the King Kong Cannon name, the Poer King Kong (it’s export market moniker) will act as a global model, and after Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Middle Eastern markets, will soon be introduced in other parts of the world.

Featuring a bold & rugged design, the Poer King Kong adopts a dominating mesh grille, a large pair of multi-point matrix LED headlamps, and sharp creases on the sides & fenders to render a dynamic appearance. As for power, it comes equipped with a 2.0T engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. According to GWM, this powertrain is efficient and reliable and can meet the driving needs of consumers under various road conditions.
GWM Poer King Kong Pickup Truck launched in Saudi Arabia
In addition to the King Kong launch, GWM exhibited its vehicle lineup, which included the GWM Poer, Haval H6, Haval Jolion, Tank 300, and GWM Wingle 7. These vehicles offer cutting-edge technology, unique design, and unrivaled dependability, making them an excellent choice for enterprises and individuals alike.

According to the most recent GWM report, global sales of GWM Poer touched 12,882 units in February of this year, and cumulative global sales have surpassed 400,000 units since its inception just over three years ago.
GWM Poer has also received a number of prestigious accolades for its superior quality. It achieved a five-star safety rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Programme (ANCAP). GWM Poer earned the “Light Commercial Newcomer Vehicle of the Year” title in South Africa and swiftly rose to the top 10 in the market segment. GWM Poer has also been recognized by the market and users in Chile, where it was named “Best Pickup of the Year” by MT Online, a local professional automotive magazine.
