Honda HR-V Facelift Revealed in Thailand Ahead of November 28 Debut

Honda Thailand has revealed the facelifted HR-V ahead of its formal debut scheduled to take place on 28th November at the 2024 Thailand International Motor Expo. Bear in mind, the facelift was first unveiled earlier this year in Japan where the vehicle is called Honda Vezel.

The images show us the refreshed crossover in the RS e:HEV guise featuring redesigned LED headlights, a wider front grille with a trapezoid mesh design finished with chrome accents, as well as the new RS badge design. Likewise, the taillights have also received a revised light signature, along with new two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels.

There is a new exterior color for the Thai market called Sand Khaki Pearl and comes with a black roof to complete the dual-tone look. Inside, the refreshed Honda HR-V now comes with an 8-inch touchscreen head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The powertrain is likely to remain unchanged with a 1.5L naturally-aspirated engine paired with an e-CVT and two electric motors. In the e:HEV system, the engine functions mainly as a generator with the help of an integrated electric motor, which also acts as a starter. A larger second motor drives the front wheels a majority of the time, but at high speeds, the engine can provide direct drive via a lock-up clutch as it’s more efficient than the electric motor in that situation.

While Thailand is getting ready to received the updated HR-V, we cannot expect that to happen in Pakistan. The stripped-down Honda HR-V is struggling to make an impact in our market in the presence of more competitive and feature-rich rivals. Honda is shy enough to disclose the individual sales numbers of HR-V and presents them as a combined figure with BR-V, still, the duo makes up only around 115 units a month, hypothetically rendering a dismal monthly sales average of around 55 units for the HR-V.
