Honda has unveiled design sketches of the third-generation Amaze, its budget sub-four-meter sedan designed exclusively for the Indian market. This latest reveal, showcasing design elements borrowed from other models in Honda’s lineup, gives a comprehensive look at the compact four-door’s exterior and interior ahead of its official launch on December 4.
The front end closely resembles the recently facelifted HR-V, featuring trapezoidal headlights and a large hexagonal grille connected by a chrome bar that spans the width of the car. Also noticeable are the clamshell bonnet and the X-shaped bumper design, created by the triple air intakes.
At the rear, much of the design has been borrowed directly from the City, with the trapezoidal theme echoed in the taillights (which include U-shaped light guides), number plate recess, lower valance, and reflectors. While the sketches depict a car with well-balanced proportions, the actual vehicle is likely to appear slightly shortened due to its compact length.

Inside, the cabin looks largely carried over from the Elevate. This includes a horizontal dashboard design with a contrasting lower section, rectangular air vents, a storage shelf beneath the digital air-con controls, and a 10.25-inch freestanding infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The only noticeable change is the removal of the Elevate’s faux wood dash panel, replaced by a more modern geometric pattern. The use of the crossover’s platform also allows the Amaze to offer up to six airbags and the Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance features, including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane centering assist, front departure alert, and automatic high beams.

Since it will continue to meet India’s small sedan regulations, the Amaze is expected to retain the same engine options as before: a 90 PS/110 Nm 1.2-liter i-VTEC petrol four-cylinder and a 100 PS/200 Nm 1.5-liter i-DTEC four-cylinder turbodiesel, both available with either a CVT or a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The launch of the new Amaze is set to have broader implications, as it is likely to serve as the basis for the next-gen Brio in the Indonesian market, as well as the upcoming next-gen BR-V and ASEAN WR-V (which should not be confused with the Japanese WR-V, a rebadged Elevate) in the future.
