Honda has unveiled the e:Ny1 as its new electric vehicle (EV) for the European market. Aside from the fact that the e:Ny1 is essentially an electric HR-V, it was also foreshadowed by the twin e:NS1 and e:NP1 models for the Chinese market.
According to Honda, despite having an HR-V-like exterior, the e:Ny1 is built on the recently created e:N Architecture F, a front-motor driven platform with three key characteristics: a dedicated high rigidity body structure, a low center of gravity, and carefully managed under-floor aerodynamics to ensure a “fun and confidence-inspiring drive.”
A 68.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack powers the system, which generates 201 horsepower (150 kW) and 310 Nm of torque. Honda claims that DC fast-charging can take you from 10 to 80% SOC in 45 minutes, and the claimed range is 412 km in the WLTP cycle, which is much more than the Honda e.
The e:Ny1 receives white ‘H’ badges across the exterior and on the steering wheel as a new electric identity for Honda, just like red for Type R and blue for hybrids, aside from minor cosmetic differences from the regular HR-V such as a distinct rear light signature, and typical EV cues such as a closed-off nose and charging flap up front. A new “Honda” typeface logo has also been added for the rear.
Inside, the dashboard is similar to the new HR-V, with a large 15.1-inch portrait touchscreen that incorporates what appears to be a permanent portion for AC controls. The meter panel in front of the driver is an electronic display without a binnacle.

No pricing or release date was provided by Honda, however, Autocar indicates a price tag of around £30,000 which competes with other B-segment electric SUVs like the Hyundai Kona Electric and Peugeot e-2008 in the European markets.
